This tutorial shows you how to create simple color trails.
Start Imagine, go to the detail editor.
Add a box with 1 division in x, y and z.
(you can add another kind of object with other amount of face,
it's like you want) |
|
Use the "Apply stage fx" function from the
"Functions" menu.
Choose the Shredder fx. parameters are : go crazy,
max faces grouped=1.
Play with the other settings until you get small faces all
around your axis. Set the
(In fact, the face distribution is not important at all because
we want an randomized aspect) |
|
Now set the attributes to the faces.
Randomize face color.
Set the brightness to 100 %.
Save your object. |
|
Go to the Stage editor.
Create a new project with a lot of frames.
I choose 200 in this case. If you render at high resolution,
render 1000 or 2000 frames, if you can.
Load your object. The object is bright, so you don't
need a light.
Move your object in front of the camera in frame1.
Place your object to a place where, when rendered, each face
is at least 2 or 3 pixels in size on the screen. |
|
Go to the last frame, number 200 in this case.
Move the object to another position and scale it up
a little.
Update the position bar and the size bar. (NOT
the Alignment bar) |
|
Now go to the Action editor.
IMPORTANT : Use a black background.
Add a rotate fx for each axis, x,y and z. Set a random
degrees value for each axis, not too high, between 90 and 720.
(If you choose greater values, the face will be too far from
one frame to the other) |
|
Close the Action editor. Save your project.
Render your 200 picture. It should be done in few minutes.
Use Scanline.
In your paint program, add all the frames together. Use the
arithmetic ADD operation.
Done !
Tips
You can add some depth of field to blur the original pictures.
If you don't have the ADD operator, render the pictures in 32
bits, with alpha channel. and import each picture in a layer
of the same picture. You should get something similar. |
